From Monday 16 April to late 2018, the New Farm Park ferry terminal will be closed due to upgrade works.

What are my transport options during the upgrade?

New Farm ferry terminal

While this upgrade is happening, you won't be able to catch the CityCat or cross-river CityFerry from New Farm park.

Travelling from New Farm

You'll be able to catch route 196 from stop 17 located on Brunswick Street (near Parkview).  This service runs every 15 minutes connecting you to the Sydney Street ferry terminal.

Sydney Street ferry terminal

You'll still be able to catch CityCat services to and from the Sydney Street terminal. 

Travelling to New Farm

If you normally catch your ferry service to the New Farm Ferry terminal, you’ll need to catch route 195 from the stop located on Sydney Street, near Griffith Street to connect to New Farm Park.

Norman Park ferry terminal

You'll still be able to catch services to and from the Norman Park ferry terminal. 

The Norman Park to New Farm Park Cross-river CityFerry will be diverted past the New Farm terminal.  If you normally catch the cross-river CityFerry service to New Farm Park, the service will now travel to Sydney Street ferry terminal. 

Travelling to New Farm

If you need to travel to New Farm Park, you’ll be able to catch route 195 from the stop located on Sydney Street (near Griffith Street) to connect to New Farm park.

What works are being done as part of the terminal upgrade?

The upgraded ferry terminal will be more accessible and will have greater capacity to cater for current and future travel demands. 

The New Farm Park ferry terminal upgrade includes:

  • dismantling and removing the existing pontoon and gangway
  • installing new pylons
  • constructing a new gangway and new flood resilient, dual-berthing pontoon
  • refurbishing the existing waiting area
  • installing new terminal identification signage
  • improving lighting and safety features.
