Getting started

  • After downloading the Translink app, you will be shown a quick tutorial of the main features. The tutorial can also be found in the More tab (More > Settings & support > Tutorial).
     
  • Set up permissions to allow access to your location.
     
  • The Translink app requires consent to send notifications and to access your device location. This is needed for journey planning to and from your current location and locating nearby stops.

Explore (home)

  • The Explore screen displays the key features in one place for easy access. 
     
  • Easily access Journey planning, Departures and Maps via the home screen.

Journey planning

  • Journey planner can be accessed via the Explore tab on the bottom menu. 
     
  • Click on the Start or Destination fields to open a search and then select your location.
     
  • Customise your journey by choosing the travel mode that suits you, easily set transfers and modify walking distance.
     
  • See a quick summary of the journey options including duration and any disruption information.
     
  • Share your journey details.

Service notices

  • Service notices are displayed in the app as messages. 
     
  • Click on a message for more detailed information.

Departures

  • Quickly access Departures from the Explore screen. 
     
  • See when your bus, train, ferry or tram will depart in real-time. 
     
  • You can choose to see results by recent stops that you have used or by stops near your location.
     
  • To add a stop to your favourites, simply select the star icon and the stop will be saved for next time.
     
  • The Arrivals tab shows you services that are drop-off only.

Map

  • You can search the map to see stops and places nearby. 
     
  • Choose the coloured dots at the top of the screen to filter your results by bus, train, ferry or tram. You can also select to view points of interest.
     
  • The live map shows trips in progress so you can follow your journey in real-time.
     

Real-time

  • Real-time is displayed in the app showing +/- minutes against scheduled time.
     
  • Red indicates that a service isn't running to schedule. This could mean it's either early or late.

My Trips

  • Save your regular trips.
     
  • Enable reoccurring notifications for your trip.
     
  • Define your preferences for notifications. 

Live navigation

  • Get step-by-step journey guidance with live navigation. 
     
  • Live navigation update notifications will be pushed even when the app is the background.

More

  • Use the more tab to personalise your settings and access permissions, privacy and terms and conditions.
     
  • You can also access a link to manage your go card account.
