After downloading the Translink app, you will be shown a quick tutorial of the main features. The tutorial can also be found in the More tab (More - Settings - Tutorial).
Set up permissions to allow access to your location.
The Translink app requires consent to send push notifications for alerts and to access your device location. This is needed for journey planning to and from your current location and locating nearby stops.
Home
The home screen displays the key features in one place for easy access.
The home screen can be personalised by changing the order of the features or you can choose to hide them altogether.
Easily access journey planning, nearby stops and departure times via the home screen.
Save your favourite stop and use the home page to quickly see departure times.
Plan
Journey planner can be accessed via the Home screen or through the Plan tab on the bottom menu.
Click on the Start or Destination fields to open a search and then select your location.
You can add an extra stop to your trip by selecting VIA.
Customise your journey by choosing the travel mode that suits you, easily set transfers and modify walking distance.
See a quick summary of the journey options including duration, transfers and any disruption information.
Setting a trip alarm will send you a reminder about your journey. You can choose to receive a reminder 5 mins to one hour before your trip. To set a trip alarm simply select your preferred trip and click on the alarm icon.
Departures
See when your bus, train, ferry or tram will depart in real time.
You can choose to see results by recent stops that you have used or by stops near your location.
To add a stop to your favourites, simply select the star icon and the stop will be saved for next time.
The Arrivals tab shows you services that are drop-off only.
Map
You can search the map to see stops and places nearby.
Choose the coloured dots at the top of the screen to filter your results by bus, train, ferry or tram. You can also select to view points of interest.
The live map shows trips in progress so you can follow your journey in real time.
More
Use the more tab to personalise your settings and access permissions, privacy and terms and conditions.
You can also access a link to manage your go card account.
The more tab is the place where travel alarms are managed.
Click on an alarm to expand messages for the journey. Here you can also view journey details and edit and delete the alarm.
Trip alarms are saved in the Alarms screen, in the Subscriptions section.
You must enable push notifications to receive trip alarms.
