South East Queensland

Free bus travel on the Gold Coast for seniors and veterans has been extended to include travel during weekends.

Eligible seniors and veterans can now travel for free across the Gold Coast on TransLink Surfside buses off peak from weekdays and public holidays from 8.30am to 3.30pm and all day on weekends.*

To receive free travel seniors need to have a special sticker on their go card supplied by Gold Coast City Council.

Seniors who are already part of the program and have a sticker, will be mailed a new one automatically; they do not need to reapply.

To join the program seniors can complete an online application form at or collect one from a City Customer Service Centre. Alternatively, they can phone 07 5667 5990 and one will be mailed to them.

Free bus travel is funded by the City of Gold Coast. It is delivered in partnership with TransLink and Surfside Buslines.
