From Monday 8 January 2024 until late-2024, Bundamba station will close for a major station accessibility upgrade.

This means Ipswich/Rosewood line services will not stop at Bundamba for the duration of the works. 

While the station is closed, alternative transport options will be available; including the new route 501 - Booval to Bundamba service.

Key upgrade features

  • A new footbridge with lift access
  • Improved accessible parking, including kiss 'n' ride area
  • Full-length, high-level platforms
  • Upgraded hearing augmentation loops and tactile ground surface indicators 
  • Upgraded security cameras and lighting
  • New wayfinding and platform signage
  • Accessible toilets and ticket windows
  • New bicycle storage facility
  • Improved seating and extended platform shelters
  • Improved station building and facilities.​

Alternative travel options

The new route 501 service will run between Booval station and Bundamba station, with an additional stop at Ipswich TAFE. 

This is a temporary service running for the duration of the Bundamba station closure.

Timetables

Service frequency will match the Ipswich/Rosewood line schedule at Booval station.

This existing service travels between Ipswich TAFE and Riverlink Shopping Centre, with stops at Brisbane Road, Booval Fair, Queens Park and Ipswich station along the way.

If you're on the southern side of Bundamba station and you're heading towards Ipswich, it may be a better option than catching route 501 to Booval and transferring to the train there.

Route 502 runs 7 days a week, including public holidays. 

This existing service travels between Ipswich TAFE and Riverlink Shopping Centre, with stops at Bundamba station, Booval station, Ipswich Hospital, Ipswich station along the way.

If you're on the northern side of Bundamba station and you're heading towards Ipswich, it may be a better option than catching route 501 to Booval and transferring to the train there.

Route 503 runs 7 days a week, including public holidays. 

If you normally park at Bundamba station, consider using nearby Booval or Ebbw Vale stations instead. 

Both stations are serviced by Ipswich/Rosewood line services.

Travelling with a bike? Unfortunately bikes and personal mobility devices are not allowed onboard bus services, including the 501.
