On Monday 12 September, Rocklea station closed for important Cross River Rail upgrade works. The station is planned to reopen in mid-2024 to ensure all critical works can be completed.

During the closure, you are unable able to access the station platforms, station office, ticket machine, or the park 'n' ride.

The station overpass bridge has also closed.

At the same time, we made some changes to StationLink route 109 to continue to provide an alternative travel option during the station closure.

Travel by bus

StationLink route 109 is a high frequency service running from Rocklea station to the PA Hospital busway station. Catch StationLink from stop 47 on Brooke Street outside Rocklea station.

There are also other local buses available that may be better for you, so remember to re-plan your journey before your travel.

Travel by train

You can park 'n' ride from Salisbury station, with plenty of spaces available in the western carpark.

From Rocklea station or Railway Parade, Salisbury station is approximately an 8 minute cycle or 21 minute walk.

If you need an accessible station, Yeronga and Coopers Plains are the closest stations with lift access.

If you need to travel to or from Rocklea station, you can catch StationLink route 109 to Boggo Road station and transfer on the same platform to high frequency route 66 services towards the City.

Travelling by train? Transfer from Boggo Road station to Park Road train station to catch a Gold Coast or Cleveland line service.

With Rocklea station closed, you are unable to access the ticket machine or station office which means you can't top up or purchase a go card, or purchase a paper ticket.

The nearest go card retailer to the station is at Moorooka Foodstore and News on Beaudesert Road.

If you need to top up your go card, the nearest location to Rocklea station is Moorooka or Salisbury stations, using the ticket machine or station office during opening hours.
