When travelling with us, you can use:

  • buses across the entire network
  • trains in South East Queensland
  • ferries in Brisbane and some ferries in Moreton Bay and Townsville
  • trams—known as the G:link—on the Gold Coast.

You can travel on most of our services in South East Queensland using your go card, except those in Kilcoy, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and Toowoomba.

If you don't have a go card, paper tickets are valid for travel on most buses, and all train, ferry and tram services.

Payment using contactless card or smart device is also accepted for adult fares on trains, trams, Brisbane River ferries and and is now being progressively rolled out on South East Queensland buses as part of Smart Ticketing trials.

Our busways offer fast congestion-free travel on dedicated roadways. We also have a number of special services:

  • Pre-paid services: Some bus routes around Brisbane offer a pre-paid service. Most of the pre-paid services only operate in peak times.
    Paper tickets cannot be bought on pre-paid services, but they can be used to travel on these services.
    For passengers without a valid ticket, there will be at least one alternative bus to travel on.
    You can identify peak time pre-paid buses by the letter 'P', in front of the route number, on the bus's destination board.
  • Blue CityGlider and Maroon CityGlider: CityGlider is a pre-paid bus service that operates as a high frequency service throughout the day. These services do not have a 'P' on the bus destination board.
  • StationLink: StationLink - or route 19 - is a temporary high frequency service running between Rocklea train station and the PA Hospital busway station, to help disrupted passengers continue to travel during Cross River Rail's major station accessibility upgrades.
  • High frequency services: We operate high frequency services on trams and some bus routes and train lines. Our high frequency services run every 15 minutes or better.
  • Nightlink services: Bus and train services operating between midnight and 5am on Friday and Saturday nights.
  • ​​Community services: Free and low-cost transport options are available to help people with a disability travel to and from appointments and various activities.
  • FlexiLink: A maxi cab service operating in Ipswich and surrounding suburbs. Passengers are picked from their home and driven to any location within the service area.

Get around Brisbane's inner-city areas easily on one our FREE bus or ferry services:

  • Spring Hill Loop - bus route 30: operates seven days a week to link the Brisbane City and Spring Hill precincts, including St Andrews War Memorial Hospital and Central station. Look for the yellow bus stop signs.
  • Brisbane City Loop - bus routes 40 and 50: runs every 10 minutes on weekdays around the City centre (40 - clockwise and 50 - anti-clockwise). Look for the purple bus stops, and jump on to travel between key spots such as Central station, Riverside, Botanic Gardens, QUT, City Hall and the Treasury Casino.
  • CityHopper ferry: runs daily along the Brisbane River between Sydney Street (New Farm) and North Quay. Hop on and explore favourite riverside locations with stops at Eagle Street Pier, Kangaroo Point and South Bank Parklands.
  • South Brisbane Loop - bus route 86: runs every 10 to 15 minutes from 10am to 11pm, seven days a week. The loop travels in an anti-clockwise direction along Grey Street, Montague Road, Vulture Street and Tribune Street, stopping at popular locations including the Cineplex, Gallery of Modern Art, South Brisbane station, Cultural Centre station, Davies Park and South Bank busway station.

On weekends and during the Easter and Christmas school holidays travel is free onboard the following Noosa services. 

  • Route 626 -Tewantin to Sunrise Beach via Noosa Heads 
  • Route 627 - Tewantin to Sunshine Beach via Noosa Heads 
  • Route 628 - Noosa Parklands to Noosa Junction via Noosa Civic 
  • Route 629 - Tewantin to Noosa Junction via Noosa Civic 
  • Route 632 - Noosa to Cooran via Cooroy and Pomona 

Free travel is not available on routes 620, 630 or 631. 

Free weekend and holiday travel is part of an ongoing trial, currently running until February 2025. This trial aims to reduce traffic around Noosa's busiest locations each weekend by making free, easy and convenient public transport available to all residents and visitors.
