All fares on Translink services are now 50 cents per journey, regardless of how far you travel on the network or how you choose to pay – whether it’s by go card, contactless debit or credit card, or paper ticket. 50% concession fares no longer apply.
If you have a child attending school they may be eligible for the School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS).
Tickets for children aged 4 years and under
Children aged 4 years and under travel free and do not need a ticket. Find out more about travelling on our network with a pram or stroller.
Tickets for children aged 5 to 14 years
South East Queensland: To travel on Translink services in South East Queensland, you should use a child go card which also lets you travel free on weekends. Find your nearest go card retailer. You can also travel using a pre-purchased paper ticket available from fare machines located at train, tram, and busway stations and some bus interchanges.
Regional Queensland: To travel on Translink and qconnect bus services in regional Queensland you will need to purchase a paper ticket onboard.
Tickets for children aged 15 years and over
South East Queensland: To travel on Translink services in South East Queensland, you can use a blue Adult go card, a green Concession go card, your contactless debit or credit card (on all train, tram, ferry, and selected bus services where available), or a pre-purchased paper ticket.
Regional Queensland: To travel on Translink and qconnect bus services in regional Queensland you will need to purchase a paper ticket onboard.
