Children

All fares on our services are now 50 cents per journey, regardless of how far you travel on the network or how you choose to pay – whether it’s by go card, contactless debit or credit card, or paper ticket. 

Half priced concession fares no longer apply.

Children who are 4 years old and under travel for free. Find out more about travelling on our network with a pram or stroller.

If you have a child attending school they may be eligible for the School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS). 

Children aged between five and 14 years travel free on the weekend when travelling with an Orange child go card. Remember: they must have money on their go card (in addition to the card deposit).

Tickets for children and school students (including high school)

South East Queensland

  • a blue Adult go card, a green Concession go card or an orange Child go card, or
  • a contactless debit or credit card (on all train, tram, ferry, and selected bus services where available), or a pre-purchased paper ticket. 
  • a pre-purchased paper ticket available from fare machines located at train, tram, and bus and busway stations.
