Sunshine, surfing and now Smart Ticketing! The launch of Smart Ticketing on Kinetic Gold Coast buses means that customers can now use new contactless payment methods seamlessly across all trains, trams and buses when travelling or transferring throughout the Gold Coast.
New payment methods include contactless Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit or debit cards, including cards stored in the digital wallet of smartphones, smart watches and other wearable devices.
The activation of Smart Ticketing on Gold Coast buses brings with it high anticipation, with the launch indicating that only one operator remains in the South East Queensland rollout. Transport for Brisbane is scheduled to be completed shortly. Customers have easily and quickly adapted to new ways to pay, with more than 25 million trips taken using Smart Ticketing across all modes.
Customers who are transferring to a Transport for Brisbane bus service will need to continue using their go card at this time.
