We're building a better rail network for South East Queensland, but that means track closures and travel changes while we deliver multiple new projects.

To help you plan ahead, this calendar provides a 6-month overview of significant extended track closures.

Important: This is a long-term planning tool for major weekday works only. It does not show routine maintenance or unplanned disruptions. Dates can change due to weather or technical issues.

Always check the journey planner or Translink app before you travel.

  • Always use the journey planner, Translink app before you travel. We also provide regular data updates to 3rd party apps through the Queensland open data portal. Using our tools (or something like Google Maps) every time you travel means you'll always get the best options for your chosen destination and time of travel.

Event planners: Check the Queensland Rail 12-month calendar to avoid clashes with weekend maintenance works.

Why are these closures happening?

To build a better network, we sometimes need full access to the tracks to ensure the safety of our workers and/or for technical reasons. We understand this disrupts your routine.

Where possible, we schedule these works during school holidays when the network is quieter, and we run rail replacement buses to keep you moving.
