South East Queensland

Queenslanders are encouraged to celebrate drivers who keep their communities moving, with nominations now open for the 2025 Queensland Bus Driver of the Year Awards. These awards acknowledge bus drivers who go above and beyond to deliver safe, reliable, and welcoming services.

Customers can help shine a spotlight on the vital role drivers play in connecting people to work, school, sport and special moments, every day.

The 2025 Queensland Bus Driver of the Year Awards will celebrate drivers across three categories:

  • South East Queensland urban bus drivers (covering Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton and Redlands).
  • Regional bus drivers (drivers on urban services in regional centres outside SEQ, including long distance coaches).
  • School bus drivers (all school bus drivers across Queensland).

To nominate a bus driver, head to the Translink website and share a story of a driver who helps make the daily commute a little brighter.

Customers who nominate a bus driver will go in the running to be one of ten lucky winners to receive a $150 gift card.

Nominations close at 11.59pm (AEST) on Sunday, 2 November 2025.

Finalists will be chosen by a panel of industry experts before the public is invited to vote for their favourites early next year.

Winners will be announced at the Queensland Bus Industry Council (QBIC) annual gala dinner and awards night next year.
