On the following weekends the Walter Taylor Bridge will be closed for important maintenance works.
During these closures, bus services will not cross the bridge. To complete your journey, you will need to transfer to the train at either Indooroopilly, Graceville or Chelmer stations to cross the river.
Dates
- Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May
- Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May
- Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June
- Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June.
Dates and times may changed due to weather or construction delays.
On the southern side of the Walter Taylor Bridge, bus services will operate differently due to the road closures.
Most routes will run in an anti-clockwise loop around Chelmer and Graceville;
- going up Oxley Road towards the bridge,
- left along Bridge Street,
- down Honour Avenue (stopping at Chelmer, Graceville and Sherwood train stations),
- left at Sherwood Road,
- then back up Oxley Road to complete the loop.
Heading over to Indooroopilly? You'll need to transfer to the train at either Chelmer, Graceville or Sherwood stations. If you require assistance, Graceville is the only fully accessible station of the three.
Bus stops going 'clockwise' will not have any services during these closures.
Great Circle Line - Route 598/599
Route 598 and 599 are a little bit different to the above information. Please note, 598 and 599 do not run on Sunday's or public holidays.
Route 598 trips going towards Moorooka/Garden City (anti-clockwise ) will begin at Chelmer station and run as normal from there.
Route 599 trips going towards Indooroopilly (clockwise) will follow the above diversion up Oxley Road and down Honour Avenue before terminating at Sherwood station.
