Translink is stepping up with extra services and free travel as one of the biggest sporting events in the world comes to Brisbane.

The Wallabies are gearing up to strike back from their 2013 series loss as they play the British and Irish Lions at 7.45pm this Saturday at Suncorp Stadium.
Free travel will be available to ticketholders four hours prior to kick-off on all Brisbane City Council buses and South East Queensland train services, excluding Airtrain and long distance service.
There will also be more than 120 extra buses and 17 additional trains in operation on the night to ensure there are plenty of services to help fans tackle their travel needs.
Customers are advised major weekend stop changes will affect inner-city busway stations, including the temporary closure of King George Square, Queen Street, and Roma Street stations on the night due to Brisbane Metro construction works.
During this time, buses will operate from alternative stops, with Metro services replaced by existing Brisbane City Council buses to minimise disruptions.
Customers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan ahead using the Translink app, by visiting www.translink.com.au or calling 13 12 30 to find the best travel option.
