Our new public transport map has today been unveiled as the South East Queensland network continues to evolve thanks to a host of major public transport infrastructure projects.
Several major projects are well underway that will provide increased service capacity across the network, making it easier to travel around our region by delivering seamless connections across the South East.
We have taken the opportunity to leverage these upcoming network changes to improve the legibility of passenger information, recently completing testing of a new network map. Developed with accessibility in mind, the new black look allows for higher colour contrast, aiding in readability for those with vision impairment.
There will also be a black and white version of the map aimed at assisting colour blind users, and an electronic ‘clickable’ version, which will link directly to further station and timetable information.
The map also now includes several high-frequency bus routes, showcasing the multi-modal aspects of the South East Queensland public transport network, along with the recently renamed Boggo Road station.
When completed, Boggo Road station will combine eight train and busway platforms, making it the second largest interchange in Queensland, behind only Roma Street station.
A shared name simplifies the map and gives customers a clear understanding that they can easily transfer between modes, as the train network undergoes its biggest transformation in 40 years.
Major projects such as Cross River Rail, the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program, Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail, Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3, the Direct Sunshine Coast Line and European Train Control System signalling will provide better and more efficient services, transforming the way people travel around the region.
We want to thank those delivery partners and stakeholders who participated in the development process of the map and for their continued support.
