A new fast and affordable bus service will operate to and from Brisbane Airport under a new contract between TransLink and airport transit business SkyBus.

From 6am on Monday May 10, SkyBus will run services every two hours from the airport to multiple stops in the Brisbane CBD.

The SkyBus Brisbane City Express service will replace services previously provided by Conn-x-ion, with buses initially running every two hours between 6am and midnight on weekdays and from 6am to 8pm on weekends.

Head of TransLink Matt Longland said with SkyBus services already servicing major airports including Melbourne, Avalon, Hobart, Auckland and the Gold Coast, Brisbane Airport travellers would be the latest to benefit.

"We want travel to be as simple and convenient as possible for anyone departing or heading to Brisbane Airport, so we're excited to be able to create a new partnership with SkyBus and bring their experience to our capital city," Mr Longland said.

"There will be multiple pick-up and drop-off locations throughout the Brisbane CBD for walk-up passengers.

"With a strong presence in other parts of the country, SkyBus is a well-known and trusted airport service operator and we're looking forward to working with them.

"More detailed information on the Brisbane Airport services is available on the SkyBus website at skybus.com.au.

Matthew Carney, Head of Australia for Skybus operator Kinetic, said SkyBus was delighted to bring its world-class airport transfer services to Brisbane.

"SkyBus has a long history connecting people with major airports across Australia and NZ with express services they know and trust as reliable, and we're excited to launch our Brisbane City Express for airport staff, locals and visitors alike," Mr Carney said.

One-day adult SkyBus tickets are $15 or $2 for children, and are available via skybus.com.au, the SkyBus app or on-board via card-payment.
