Veterans and their families will receive free public transport travel on Remembrance Day to recognise the Centenary of Armistice next month.
Ahead of this year’s Remembrance Day on November 11, the State Government has announced uniformed serving Australia Defence Force personnel and veterans wearing their service medals can now gain free public transport access to and from services, except on the Airtrain.
The announcement brings Remembrance Day travel into line with the recognition our veterans already receive on Anzac Day.
Free travel arrangements would continue on Remembrance Day beyond this year, during TransLink off-peak times.
