Commuters can win free travel for a year with new public transport incentives introduced during June.
Free travel on all TransLink SEQ public transport for a year can be won by one lucky traveller each week in June to help entice more people back into city centres.
Each Monday during June, TransLink will randomly draw a gold go card giveaway winner who will be entitled to unlimited free travel on all TransLink SEQ public transport including buses, trains, trams, ferries and Airtrain for a year.
Entry is open to anyone with a registered go card who travelled on the TransLink SEQ network with their go card on Fridays in June and filled in the short entry form on the TransLink website.
With city centres doing it tough, the free travel incentive is aimed at giving people a reason to get out of their cars and also pitch in for the Friday in the City campaign to entice more people back into CBDs.
Passengers had steadily returned to SEQ public transport since the start of the pandemic and public transport use was about 70 per cent of pre-COVID levels.
Public transport is often cheaper, more convenient and less stress than your car. But it is also better for the environment, cuts congestion, frees up your own commute and now, you could win free travel for a year.
The golden go cards are non-transferrable and will cover the entire SEQ TransLink network. Winners travel for a year between 1 July 2021 – 30 June 2022.
