Smart Ticketing Trial
Translink is working closely with our local delivery partner in this region to conduct a Smart Ticketing trial across the local bus network.
The Smart Ticketing trial will test the features and functionality of new Smart Ticketing on-board equipment with bus operators, drivers and employees. The trial will also test the accuracy and accessibility of real-time service information the Smart Ticketing NextBus software will provide for customers.
There will be no change to services for customers who will continue to purchase paper tickets during the trial.
Smart Ticketing regional bus trials are being conducted in Innisfail, Bowen, Hervey Bay, Maryborough and on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) to ensure the new system is fully functional before rolling out Smart Ticketing to customers.

What's happening in Hervey Bay
Real-time information is now available for Hervey Bay bus services. Real-time enables you to check actual times for when your bus will arrive, providing a more seamless public transport experience.
To get real-time information about your service, visit our real-time stops and stations search and enter your location, or download the MyTranslink app on to your smartphone, go to the 'Find stops' search and enter your location.
Hervey Bay is one of five urban centres selected to participate in Translink's Smart Ticketing regional bus trials.
This local trial will inform how we design and deliver Smart Ticketing right, before delivering it right away across Queensland.
