Toowoomba's new bus network launched Monday 19 June 2017.

We worked with Bus Queensland and the community to design your new network.

You can now:

  • plan your travel on your new network in our online journey planner.
  • get bus network information by calling us on 13 12 30 anytime.

Key features of your new bus network:

  • eight routes with more than 1150 services per week
  • two routes running at 30 minute frequencies during peak periods
  • six routes operating at hourly frequencies
  • introduction of Sunday services on popular routes
  • longer operating hours to provide more travel options to and from the CBD
  • expanded coverage to service new and growing residential areas
  • more frequent trips to key destinations including Toowoomba Bus Station, Toowoomba Hospital, University of Southern Queensland, Grand Central Shopping Centre and Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre.

There are no changes to dedicated school bus services as a result of the new Toowoomba bus network. For more information on dedicated school bus services, please contact Bus Queensland on 4633 1177.

go card and real-time info are not available in Toowoomba as TransLink is currently investigating a Next Generation Ticketing (NGT) solution.  Existing paper tickets and fares will continue to apply.

This service replaces route 1.

Operating hours:

Weekdays: 6am to 6.45pm

Saturday: 9.10am to 5.15pm

Sunday: 9.20am to 5.20pm

Frequency:

Weekdays: 30 to 60 minutes

Weekends: 60 minutes

Features

  • Provides a direct connection to the Toowoomba Hospital.
  • Additional services to extend operating hours and provide more trips during morning and afternoon peak periods (30 minute frequencies).
  • Introduction of Sunday services for the first time.
  • Removal of school deviations to Harristown State School Interchange to provide route and timetable consistency. Students will be able to board at South Street, a short walk away.

Route changes following consultation

A route variation will continue to be provided to Toowoomba State High School in the southbound direction (towards the CBD) in the morning and in the northbound direction (towards Harlaxton) in the afternoon. This means students will be dropped off and picked up directly outside the school's' front entrance.

  • Removal of school route variations to St Mary’s College and St Ursula's College to provide route and timetable consistency. Alternative travel can be made on either route 905, 906 and 907 services.

Route changes following consultation

For Gabbinbar State School students, the afternoon southbound service (towards Middle Ridge) will continue to collect students on Stenner Street after 3pm.

This service replaces route 4 towards Clifford Gardens.

Weekdays: 7am to 6.40pm

Saturday: 8am to 5.25pm

Sunday: 9.15am to 4.55pm

Weekends: 60 to 120 minutes

Features:

  • Additional services to extend operating hours.
  • Extended coverage alignment to Drayton and Westbrook on select services.
  • Provides a direct connection to the Toowoomba Hospital on all services.
  • Introduction of Sunday services for the first time.

Route changes following consultation

Through Westbrook, this route will operate as a loop entering via Ferguson Road/Main Street and exiting via Boundary Street. Services will run four return trips daily on weekdays, four return trips on Saturdays and two return trips on Sundays.

Coverage through Drayton will be extended to better connect Woolworths shopping precinct and Drayton State School on Brisbane Street.

To improve efficiency and access for Willow Glen Village residents, this route will no longer service Hume and Alderley Streets, and will instead travel directly on the New England Highway.

This service replaces route 5 (now terminating at Toowoomba Plaza).

Weekdays: 6.25am to 6.30pm

Saturday: 8.35am to 4.40pm

Frequency:

Weekdays: 60 minutes

Saturday: 60 minutes

Features:

  • Additional services to extend operating hours.
  • This route will not service USQ and will terminate at Toowoomba Plaza.
  • On inbound services (towards the CBD), this route will run via Spring Street.
  • To improve customer safety, bus stops at Market Square Wilsonton will be relocated on Kirra Street.
  • Removal of school route variations to St Mary’s College, St Ursula’s College and Centenary Heights State High School to provide route and timetable consistency. Alternative travel arrangements for St Mary's College Students can be made on route 905 and 907. St Ursula's College and Centenary Heights State High School students are encouraged to use their closest bus stops on West Street and Ramsay Street respectively.

Route changes following consultation

For Harristown State School, a route variation will continue to be provided in the southbound direction (towards Middle Ridge) in the morning and in the northbound direction (towards Wilsonton) in the afternoon.

This service replaces route 6.

Saturday: 8.45am to 5.40pm

Sunday: 8.45am to 4.50pm

  • Additional services to extend operating hours and provide more trips during morning and afternoon peak periods (30 minute frequencies).
  • Introduction of Sunday services for the first time.
  • Extended coverage to Palm Lakes Resort.
  • To improve customer safety, bus stops at Market Square Wilsonton will be relocated on Kirra Street.

Route changes following consultation

Route 907 will service the length of Hogg Street, between Esmond Street and Greenwattle Street, operating as a loop to provide better coverage and a more convenient service. It will operate in an anticlockwise direction in the following order: Hogg Street, Barooga Court, Wine Drive and Tor Street.

For Harristown State School students, a route variation will continue to be provided in the morning and afternoon, both in both directions.

Route 907 will no longer service stops on Bridge Street between Gordon Avenue and Holberton Street, due to safety concerns at an un-signalised intersection. Instead, this route will travel along Avondale and Holberton streets.

This service replaces routes 300/301 and 314/315.

Operating hours:

Weekdays: 6.20am to 6.45pm

Frequency:

Weekdays: 60 to 120 minutes

Feature:

  • Additional services to extend operating hours.
  • Route 950 will replace route 314/315 to Highfields Plaza, and route 300/301 to Crows Nest. By combining both routes into a single service, more buses will be able to run through Highfields Village.

Route changes following consultation

To improve efficiency, services will no longer travel along Blue Gum and Oak streets in to access Highfields Plaza from the New England Highway. 

To improve coverage, select services will extend to Oakey Meringandan Road via Kalimna Drive in northern Highfields.

Morning services will be altered to provide more convenient travel times towards the CBD.

To assist student travel to Toowoomba State High School, a school deviation will continue to be provided in the southbound direction (towards the CBD) in the morning and in the northbound direction (towards Crows Nest) in the afternoon. This means students will be dropped off and picked up directly outside the school’s front entrance.

There are no changes to:

  • the way you register and/or book Kan-go services
  • roam zone area. 

However, like all other bus routes, the Kan-go fixed route alignment through the CBD will change to better service the newly developed Grand Central precinct.
