TransLink is celebrating the one billionth go card trip on the network with a giveaway for 10 lucky customers.
TransLink General Manager Passenger Transport Services Peter Milward launched an online competition today for registered go card holders to go into the draw to win one of 10 prizes of $100 travel credit for their TransLink go card for public transport travel.
"Since 2007, one billion trips have been made on the South East Queensland network, an amazing milestone worth celebrating with our customers," Mr Milward said.
"Customers with a registered go card can fill out a quick and easy online entry form on the TransLink website to win one hundred dollars' credit worth of free travel."
Customers keen to win one of the ten $100 travel credit for their go card will have from today until 11:59pm on Monday 1 August to enter, with the winners announced on TransLink's Facebook page at 9am Tuesday 2 August.
Only registered go cards are eligible to enter and those who haven't yet registered their card can do so online or by calling 13 12 30.
"Registering your go card is the best way to protect your cards and travel balance, if your go card is lost or stolen," Mr Milward said.
"Once your card is registered, you can also set up the handy auto top-up feature which is the easiest way to make sure you always have credit on your go card before you travel.
"The auto top-up feature allows you to set a pre-determined amount between $20 and $200 to be automatically added to your go card from your nominated credit card when your travel balance falls below $5.
"go card is now used on more than 86 per cent of all public transport trips in South East Queensland with more than 200,000 customers registered for the auto top-up feature.
"The benefits are sold on our customers, go card users can board vehicles faster and they can travel and transfer between modes more easily."
