RSS feeds keep you up-to-date by bringing new information from your favourite sites to you - you don't need to check each site to see if something new has been added. Many sites offer RSS feeds, including most news sites and blogs.
At TransLink, you can subscribe to RSS feeds for service updates on your bus route, train line or ferry service.
You can get RSS feeds brought to you in different ways:
- Most modern web browsers have a feed reader built in. This includes Internet Explorer 7+, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari.
- You can install a program on your computer or your smartphone, which will work similarly to an email program. It will collect your feeds and help you manage them.
- You can use an web-based service to subscribe to and read feeds - a bit like webmail.
For more information see Wikipedia: News Aggregator.
Check your reader's help to learn how to subscribe to the feeds you want to receive.
