What is Trip Tracker?

Trip Tracker is the name given to TransLink's real-time information system, being trialled on Clarks Logan City and Blue CityGlider services until mid-2013.

How does it work?

Buses are tracked using satellites to pinpoint their location. This calculates how long each service will take to arrive at your stop.

Trip Tracker lets you access accurate real-time travel information online, on-board and at some bus stops.

How to access Trip Tracker online

For real-time information at your fingertips, access Trip Tracker from home, work or on-the-go using the following steps:

  • On the TransLink website, go to travel information, then select stops and stations.
  • On the TransLink mobile site, select "stops and stations" under "Quick links".
  • Search for your Clarks Logan City or Blue CityGlider stop ID, stop name or address, e.g. Loganholme station.
  • Find your route, e.g. "CGLD" for Blue CityGlider services, and departure time as displayed next to the Trip Tracker "TT" symbol.
  • When using the mobile site, be sure to select the green "Save to my links" button to access real-time information for your stop quickly and easily at any time.
  • The "TT" symbol indicates that real-time is available for that service. If "TT" is not shown, the website will display scheduled times only.

What are the benefits?

Real-time information means you'll:

  • Know when to go or how long you will need to wait, with real-time information available for each stop from your computer, web-enabled mobile phone or by calling 13 12 30.
  • Know where you are on the route and when to get off the bus, with on-board displays and audio announcements.
  • Know if your service is disrupted, with quicker and more accurate service disruption information than ever before.
  • Have real-time information displayed at your stop, with electronic kerb-side displays at Logan Hyperdome, Springwood, Beenleigh and Logan Central stations.

Why is it needed?

We know that our customers want accurate information when they're using public transport. Trip Tracker provides greater access to service information and reduces waiting times at bus stops by enabling you to look up real-time information for your bus while at home, office or on the go.

Get involved and complete the online feedback form

A network-wide rollout of Trip Tracker is subject to the success of the Logan City Buses and Blue CityGlider trials, customer acceptance and funding availability. During the trial, passengers are invited to provide feedback on the system via the online feedback form.

We are very eager to make immediate improvements where possible or note them for consideration should funding be provided for a wider rollout.
