Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines
Between Dutton Park and Varsity Lakes stations
Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 April 29
TransLink customers should allow up to an extra hour to travel on the Beenleigh and Gold Coast train lines this weekend.
Tracks between Dutton Park and Varsity Lakes stations will be closed from the first train on Saturday (28 April) until the last train on Sunday (29 April).
TransLink spokesperson Gemma Rivers said buses would replace all inbound and outbound trains during the weekend closure.
“Trains will still operate between Dutton Park and city stations, plus on all other lines,” Ms Rivers said.
Works being undertaken this weekend include:
- Track work at Yeerongpilly and Trinder Park to Beenleigh stations
- Signal and overhead power line maintenance Bethania to Beenleigh and Helensvale to Robina
- General maintenance to stations at Moorooka, Trinder Park, Beenleigh and Woodridge
The Spann Road level crossing at Holmview will be reduced to one lane between 6am and 12pm on Saturday 28 April and the entire day on Sunday 29 April.
Also, Fairfield, Moorooka, Trinder Park and Beenleigh stations will be partially closed due to ongoing works. Access to ticketing at these stations will be maintained.
Ms Rivers said people heading to the Brisbane Lions vs Geelong Cats AFL clash at The Gabba on Saturday night should plan their journey with this closure in mind.
“We thank you for your patience as maintenance works continue across the network,” Ms Rivers said.
“Passengers with a disability can call 3636 5555 or SMS 0428 774 626 for information and assistance for any of the track closures.”
Trains on the Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines will resume as normal on Monday (30 April).
